Temporary Protected Status (TPS) Updates: What You Need to Know

If you currently are in the U.S. in Temporary Protected Status (TPS), you may be concerned whether the Trump administration will cancel TPS for your country. BDV and its partner law firms are closely monitoring this situation.

How to Check Your Country’s TPS Status

If DHS Announces Plans to End TPS for Your Country

If the Department of Homeland Security has announced plans to end TPS status for your country, we recommend that you closely follow the news. For example, lawsuits have already been filed to block the termination of TPS for Venezuela.

If TPS Is Officially Terminated for Your Country

Switching to Consular Processing for EB-3

If TPS has officially been terminated for your country and you need to leave the U.S., you may need to switch to Consular processing to continue the EB-3 process from outside the U.S.
