Position Overview
Our Program Coordinator will play an integral role in supporting J1X’s company vision and mission statement in administration and support of Exchange Visitor Trainee and Intern programs. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day activities primarily focused on intake and processing sponsorship applications, advising exchange visitors, and maintaining compliance with visa records. The Program Coordinator will assist with advisement to the exchange visitor on the J-1 Intern/Trainee visa with relevant immigration laws, including the Department of State's and the Department of Homeland Security's policies, manuals, instructions, and guidance on SEVIS and all other operations relevant to the Exchange Visitor Program, through conversation, correspondence. The Program Coordinator will serve as an Alternate Responsible Officer for SEVIS (DHS system).
Duties & Responsibilities
Intake & Compliance:
- Receive, review, interview and assist in vetting exchange visitor applications for sponsorship into J1X’s program designation in tandem with Program Specialist.
- Coordinate and assemble consular, pre-arrival and orientation packets for sponsored exchange visitors.
- Create and maintain consulate reports, arrival reports, orientation reports, insurance records, CRM and SEVIS records.
- Assist with program changes and processes such as transfers, extensions, amendments, deviations, etc.
Advisement & Engagement:
- Interact with various student and professionals in the exchange visitor program to provide guidance and support throughout their program.
- Engage with exchange visitors through various social media platforms by planning, designing and analysis of social media posts.
- Support digital communications, including content research, creation and analysis.
- Advise exchange visitors of their program requirements, visa regulations, assist with questions related to relocation and transition (such as housing, banking, taxes, etc.) and assist with insurance questions and claims for respective exchange visitors.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of immigration regulations related to J visa categories
- Prior experience in marketing and/or content creation
- Prior international and/or educational experience strongly preferred
- Prior SEVIS experience preferred
Education and Experience
- Must be a U.S, citizen or permanent resident of the United States in order to be a Designated School Officer or Alternate Responsible Officer for the Department of Homeland Security's SEVIS system.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Has knowledge of the J-1 Visa Programs’ mission statement including values, products, markets, competitors, procedures and services for exchange programs. Hold value to helping international students and professionals in their career development opportunities.
- Behavior examples: Represents exchange programs on all aspects and holds true empathy or the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. Utilizing strong active listening and the ability to handle difficult and unexpected situations.
- Must have previous client relationship management, customer service, or program management experience.

Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and traveling within 3 hours of your residence.
